Northern Norway, March - Part 2 (Senja)
A few vertical frames from our trip in Northern Norway, this time the second stretch of our trip, moving through different spots in Senja.
Nikkor Z 14-30 mm; f/9 ; 28 mm; 20 Sec; ISO 100
First evening in Senja. At Fjordbotn, the background is dominated by peaks
reflecting in the fjord and dramatic clouds announcing the next day’s rain.
The foreground element made the scene even more powerful: a fallen trunk,
half claimed by ice, is resting at the edge of the fjord.
Nikkor Z 14-30 mm; f/10 ; 30 mm; 8 Sec; ISO 100
At Devil’s Teeth, heavy clouds roll in, strong gales send water spray into
the air, and a rare break in the clouds gives the crashing waves a brief
dose of sunlight.
Nikkor Z 14-30 mm; f/10 ; 20 mm; 8 Sec; ISO 100
A moment of calm before the peaks of Okshornan are washed by the inevitable
rain coming from the sea, with a small tidal pool of reds and greens adding
a touch of color to the scene.
Nikkor Z 14-30 mm; f/10 ; 24 mm; 1/40 Sec; ISO 100
Just before the rain arrives At Ersfjord. A thin stream finds its way back
to the sea, leaving behind reflections in the wet sand — quiet, fleeting,
and easily missed.
Nikkor Z 14-30 mm; f/9,0 ; 24 mm; 15 Sec; ISO 100
Another long exposure somewhere around Mefjordvær, with waves swirling
through the rocky shore and the mountains barely visible under the weight of
the sky.
We only had one day when we couldn’t shoot at all — the sky was completely
flat and grey, with no texture or light to work with. The rest of the time,
it was all about adapting to whatever conditions we were given. A
challenging place, but one that keeps things interesting.
