A Quiet Morning Between the Giants - Dolomites

Image
Passo Giau In The Dolomites Nikkor Z 14-30 mm f/4 S; 14 mm; 4 sec; f/11; ISO 100 Nikkor Z 14-30 mm f/4 S; 16 mm; 1/8 sec; f/11; ISO 100 The morning at Passo Giau began in silence. The air was crisp, the ground firm with a bit of frost, and the Dolomites stood still under the faint pre-dawn glow. As the first color appeared above the horizon, the light changed rapidly: from deep blue to a fiery red that set the clouds above the peaks ablaze. The peaks to the right of Ra Gusela caught the color first, creating a balanced contrast with the deep blue sky above. I framed the scene using the frost-lined path as a leading line toward the mountain — a simple, diagonal composition that gave the image depth and scale. First Light of the Day in Tenerife

Image
First Light of the Day (Nikkor Z 14-30 mm f/4 S; 19 mm; 1/30 sec; f/10; ISO 100) This is one of the most photogenic places in Tenerife. It’s not just beautiful, it’s alive. Waves crash relentlessly against the rugged rocks, sending up sprays that dance in the changing light. This coastline is shaped by time and weather; it’s wild, full of character, and unpredictably beautiful. Because of its location on the northwestern tip of Tenerife, the light here has a unique quality. The golden hour feels longer, and overcast skies are common. Dark clouds add drama and contrast, giving this place a surreal glow.  What makes this place even more remarkable is its detail. ( Nikkor Z 14-30 mm f/4 S; 14 mm; 1/15 sec; f/10; ISO 100 ) Amid the elemental drama, there’s subtle beauty to discover: wildflowers blooming defiantly on the windswept coastline, dead branches adding depth ...

Autumn in the Dolomites (part 2)

Image
A Foggy Day in the Dolomites: Through Colors and Stillness (Nikkor Z 24-120 mm; 46 mm; 1/4 sec; f/9; ISO 100) October in the Dolomites has its own quiet magic. The crowds are gone, the air has turned crisp, and the mountains seem to exhale thick, rolling fog. On this particular day, I set out into a forest where the only constant was the fog itself. It hung low among the trees, softening the edges of everything, transforming even familiar paths into something dreamlike. Each step revealed a new palette of autumn colors: golds, rusts, and the deep greens disappearing into the mist. The silence was profound — broken only by the dripping leaves and the occasional crack of a branch. Further along, the trail opened to the  earth pyramids , strange natural rock formations rising from the mist like ancient sentinels. Around them, the trees blazed with lat...

Autumn in the Dolomites (part 1)

Image
Lake Braies (Nikkor Z 14-30 mm;  24 mm; 1/6 sec; f/11; ISO 100) A few days ago, I returned from exploring and photographing the mighty Dolomites...and wow, what a magical experience! Autumn in the Dolomites is pure magic: golden larch trees glowing in the sun, fog rolling through the valleys, and beautiful light painting the towering peaks.  Giau Pass  ( Nikkor Z 24-120 mm;  24 mm; 0,6 sec; f/10; ISO 100) It wasn’t all easy, though. Throughout the trip, my vision was blurry due to a motion sickness patch I was using, which made it really tough to see my camera display clearly. Let’s just say… plenty of blurry shots this time   But despite the challenges, I still managed to capture some images that truly reflect the beauty and spirit of the Dolomites in autumn, and I’m really happy with the results. Alpe di Siusi   ( Nikkor Z 24-120 mm;  35 mm; 0,5 sec; f/9; ISO 100) Huge thanks to our ...

Chasing the Stars in the Algarve: A September Night Beneath the Milky Way

Image
There’s something magnetic about the Algarve coast: the combination of cliffs carved by time and natural elements, the burnt-red terrain that glows under the setting sun, and the sound of the Atlantic crashing against the rocks.  This September, I set off on a photographic trip to capture the contrast between the rugged beauty and the quiet immensity of the night sky. My main goal was to capture the Milky Way above the iconic red rocks of the Algarve, a dreamscape of earth and stars. I chose the area near  Ponta da Piedade , a dramatic headland known for its sea-carved arches, limestone pillars, and sweeping ocean views. As night fell, the sky slowly began to reveal its deeper layers. The core of the Milky Way rose above the horizon, just as the last hues of twilight faded. But, as is often the case in landscape astrophotography,  the conditions weren’t perfect. Some low clouds above the horizon making the lower part of Milky Way inv...

Welcome to my visual journey

Image
Hello and welcome to my photo blog! Here you'll find a collection of moments captured through my lens as I explore the beauty of the world around us.  This blog is both a travel diary and a reflection of my growth as a nature and landscape photographer. With a keen eye for composition, symmetry, and light, I strive to tell stories that transport you into the moment — to feel the stillness of a mountain morning, the rhythm of waves against the shore, or the quiet awe of golden light at dusk.  Each photograph is more than just an image: it’s an invitation to slow down, look closer, and appreciate the wonder that surrounds us every day.  Enjoy!
